Yay!!! NOT!... prep time tomorrow eyes    oh well it could be worse and I could be drinking the sludge from the sea.  Taking my visicol like last year.  Was hoping that my doc would have the scripts for the new Osmoprep but he is still waiting on the Salix rep so hopefully will get the chance to take those next time.  Heard they are better than Visicol cause you don't need the Dulcolax which always doubles me over.  Got my jello, popsicles, and gatorade and about to set up my tent in the bathroom with lots of charmin and baby wipes and extra gossipy magazines.

Going to have gastroscopy as well as the c-scope on Thursday to make sure I haven't done damage to my stomach will all my meds.  Wish me luck and I hope I can check in a few times tomorrow before and after the worst part.

Visicol is new to me and now there is another one on the horizon. Hurray, maybe in 2 years when I get mine again it won't be so bad. I didn't have to take Dulcolax with mine, just the Phosphosoda thing. I was told I could use Gatorade but it had to be clear type like lemon, no red or purple stuff. Wish you well, visit us between trips. tongue

I start my prep tomorrow 6/29/06 (my 10th wedding anniversary)!!!  I have to stop at the store tonight and get my gatorade, jello, and so on.  I didn't think of the Star & Enquirer!!!  Will have to get those to.  I am not looking forward to the prep, but I was also thinking it won't be much different then everyday life!!!!  I have to drink the gallon of nasty tasting stuff!!!  Does anyone know if you really have to take the ducolax tabs the night before since I have D all the time anyway??

I never had to take the ducolax..  I just drank the prep...  The prep really cleans you out..  But you should listen to your doctor...

It depends on the prep instructions given to you by your doc. For the visicol prep that he gives me, he does want me to take the Dulcolax. If I take the other option of the golytly than I don't have to but I prefer the pills. I did notice that when I am in my C mode than the prep is a little harder and lasts longer for me but if I have D anyway on the days leading up to the prep, I am usually done a lot sooner because there is less to come out. My doc does say though the drink gatorade and not just water because the danger of your electrolyte balance going awry is a concern. Gatorade (or other sports drinks) replenishes all your sodium, potassium, and carbs as water does not.

Ryleigh, I'm having a colonoscopy and gastroscopy. I have had the colonoscopy done before but not the gastroscopy, only barium xrays for upper.

ahhhh, I remember those days.  One time, I prepped for an upper Gi and small bowel series x-ray and when I went for the test, they told me that they couldn't do it because I may be pregnant.  That was AWFUL!!  I prepped for nothing.  Ugh.  I was so sore too...my grandma is a nurse and she said that it helps to use vasaline on your tush if it starts to burn.  ouch!

Just got back... kinda sleepy... don't really have any answers yet until all comes back from the pathology report. Visible colitis was noted however no mention of ulcers this time and not really specific in the location, noted that random colon biopsies were done again. Found another polyp in my rectum so hopefully that is a innocent one. Off to take it easy right now... will be sleeping the sedative off.

Take Care :)
