Certainly sounds like it since all the tests were normal. I notice that you had a sigmoid rather than a colonscopy though but it is probably IBS. You system may be changing and you may need to start cooking vegies and fruits and stay away from raw for a while. This just turned a friend of mine around after many years of diahrea. the fat that the pain subsides is a good sign. Try some probiotics and see if you can get your stomach back into shape. You didn't say whether you drink milk but if you do you might try to eliminate dairy and increase calcium. Just a quick overview of some of the things that people recommend. I found a heating pad very helpful for pain and also an over the counter medication for gas.

Hi Raghav,
I hate to be so blunt and depressing... But no, you probably won't go back to normal. People with IBS (even IBDers) sometimes go through a remission period. You could feel great for a couple days, weeks, even months - but it's not likely you're going to go back to normal. Most of my friends and family are "normal" and they only have D about 2-3 times a year. I will NEVER be that "normal" again unless they find a cure for IBS.
Although, I must say that my GI doc says people grow out of IBS. I'm not sure I trust her because I have yet to find someone that has "grown out" of it.
Your best bet is to accept it, research it, and learn to deal with it... Either through meds, lifestyle or diet, or all of the above.

Raghav,
Has any doctor even attempted to do colonscopy???? Has your family doctor mention about refering you to Gi??????
Maybe they should rule out Crohn's????? I have been on the road to trying to figure out why I go through major diarrhea episodes, anywhere from 3 up to 16 or so times a day, also bloating, pain in abdomen, some bouts of constipation, and no matter what I eat or drink this still happens, the only thing I do find really hard to eat is fiber, and that means any fruit or veggie that is high in fiber....I have also had the glutean tests done and lactose free tests and they were all fine...I was diagnosed with Cd last Sept, when GI did colonscopy and it showed patches of CD in large bowel, then after steroids and Imuran it mysteriously disappeared, so now GI is saying I have IBS....I believe it is going to be a long hard road before they actually come to a solid conclusion on what is wrong...I also suffer from Hypothyroidism, endometriosis , b12 deficient, fibromyalgia and what now appears to be carpal tunnel in left wrist, and also very high cholestrol....
I would want to see a GI and get him/her to do a work up on ya...
Good luck!!!
