Hi Niall and welcome to healingwell. I accidentally discovered this and am grateful. I have many friends with IBS and one with UC which has been a terrible ordeal for her. So that is actually how I realized this existed- I was desparate to find something for her. And it's been nice. I know- it's a crapshoot (no pun intended here!) about
what works and what doesn't. I don't know about
anyone else, but I don't like the trial and error method! i just want to know!! lol. Some things that have helped me (and I always say check with your MD before trying any of it- and I only say this because I'm always afraid of giving bad advice and I don't want anyone to suffer because of it) are the 'Eating for IBS' book, which is a combo book of how to eat to improve symptoms and recipes, relaxation, and exercise. Also, recently I bought the 'IBS Audio Program' which is a 4 CD set that consists of hypnotherapy techniques designed by a therapist from England who specializes in IBS. He reportedly has an over 85% success rate in reduction of symptoms (costs $90) I am going to write about
it here when I'm more into the set. It is 100 nights (or days depending when you chose to listen) all together and I'm currently 12 nights in. Anyway, good luck to you!
