  Hi To All:)

Im new here...and was blown away by how many people suffer with IBS...

I had tests done ..like some of you. and different meds..but nothing is helping me....Im a prison in my home ...If I go out I have to know where the restrooms are..at all times...my social life is down the toilet..pardon the pun.. I dont go out...its ruining my life..

I am puzzled because I use the restroom between 20x30 daily..and you would think that I would be thin as a rail..no ..opposite!!! why is this? Im bloated all the time..irritable. and  tired all the time...

Please..someone ...I need some advise here...Im getting really frustrated!!

        Thank You.. :-)   Gina

That's a lot of trips to the toliet, even for someone with IBS-D. I think you need to talk to Sarita and listen to what all she's had done because she's the only one on here who's had your level of diarrhea. Maybe what has helped her will help you.

I lost weight when I first got sick with my gall bladder, but I eventually gained it all back, even though I was still having frequent GB attacks. I just overate when I was feeling better to make up for when I wasn't. Also, your body will adjust to calorie loss and slow your metabolism down to match. That's why everyone hits the "dieter's plateau"; it's your body fighting against weight loss. From an evolutionary standpoint, weight loss is bad, which is why the body fights against it; skinny, sick creatures are the first to get eaten. Of course you may be thinner than you know, but it is not showing because of the bloating.

I'd be irritible and tired too if I was as sick as you! I don't think there's anyone who doesn't feel drained (no pun intended) when they have diarrhea.

Hi Gina,
Welcome to HealingWell! :-)
As mentioned by Keri, that is a lot of trips to the toilet for IBS-D. Are your docs sure you don't have IBD? Have you had the scopes with biopsies and/or camera pill? Have you been tested for Celiacs and parasites? I know you said you have had tests done, but this doesn't seem right. Maybe your next step should be to visit the Mayo Clinic.
Have you tried calcium as a method to control your D? What about Imodium? There has to be something out there that can help you. If your doc is at the bottom of the barrel then it might be time to find a new doc with a full barrel.

Hey!

i was up to 15x a day, mine is a sensitivity to wheat/gluten (like 7lil said, celiacs) i don't have celiac, but a noticiable change when i do not eat gluten.
by the subject of your message, where you fired from your job?!
i too suggest talking with sarita.
also keep a food/poop diary that may help define some triggers.
have you tried lomotil? it is like a super duper imodium...
best of luck, i do hope you feel better soon.
also take it easy, don't be so hard on yourself--you are sick and your body is screaming for attention. make sure you rest, drink 'good' water and try out some de-stressing methods. (yoga works for me)

best,
bunnybabe
