I take two Fibercons in the morning. Are these helpful?

From all the information the doc gave me fiber is supposed to be good but when I take my fiber shake now I have terrible bloating so I don't know what to tell you. I was just told Friday that I have IBS-D. If you have the IBS with constipation I would think it would help. The best thing would be to ask your doctor. Barb

I have read that the kind of finber you take is important to the kind of bowel problems you have. People with D are supposed to take supplements that are more insoluable fiber because that helps bulk up their stool. People with C are supposed to take supplements that are more soluable fiber as these help lubricate the intestinal tract and make stools softer. I think your supplement should say on the bottle how much of each kind it has. All of them should contain both kinds, but they should have more of one or the other and you need to take a supplement that is heavy on the type of fiber that you need.

The drink I did use has 7 grams soluable and 5grams insoluable fiber. So maybe that's why it give me cramps and bloating. I also read that Nexium which is something new I am on causes side pain and diarhhea which is what I am having so who knows for sure. Barb
