Some interesting facts about how gas works, what it's composed of, why we get it, etc.  Also, it points out that peppermints, chocolate and fats can cause burping.  Which most people with trapped gas would like to do.  It suggest sucking on a peppermint candy to try and relieve gas.  I would think sucking on an after dinner chocolate mint would be really good!  Also note they suggest baking soda in water if you are having gas problems, although it's not to be take directly after a meal.

That is really interesting as peppermint and chocolate (along with alcohol) are the threethings I was told to stay away from because they make the LES valve floppy and allow acid from the stomach to back up. That said. That may be why it works for gas as they make the valve floopy and allow the gas to come up. So do you or don't you but it does all make sense when you think of it. I was also told if I burp the gas is from too much acid and if it manifests itself with flatulence and intestinal gas it is because of undigested food or bacteria. I know peppermint does make me burp.
