I have been sick since feb. At first thought I had the flu or food poisoning, symptoms only get better for a few days & then come back. I have had bloodwork, ultrasounds,ct's, upper endo, colonoscopy& then hida scan. They removed gallbladder in march which did help some what. I now go back & forth C & D, here lately theD. I also have gerd.I have this discomfort under my left bottom of ribcage that goes around into my back. I cannot even get a doc to check into this & I'm starting to really get p*****!! I have been like this since march it only gets some what better for a few days & then it's back. I have even been sent to dermotologist because of hair loss. Believe it or not she has been the best doc of the dozens I've seen! She is running all kinds of tests, alot of them was ran a few months ago though. My question is do people with severe ibs or people who have their gallbladders removed sometimes have bm's that are tanish yellow& sometimes creamy looking

I assume the dermotologist has checked all your meds. Sometimes the acid reducers will cause hair loss big time. I had hair loss after a severe illness. Hope you find out the reason. I found the one that helped me the most when I didn't know what the hair loss was from was the gal who sold wigs for people with hair loss problems. She has seen every scalp there is probably that has lost hair and she said based on the way the hair was coming out, root, etc that it was stress or new med. Since I had no new meds and had breen seriously ill it was stress. It took about 4 months after my illness for it to start coming out and it came out in clumps. Fortuanately I have really thick hair so it just got a uneven more than anything. Good luck

HI!  I hope I can help you, or at least make you feel better. :-)

We sound VERY similiar.  Let me ask you this...are you a nervous person?  I truly am and have been for quite a while.  It all started when my parents got divorced about 5 years ago...got worse when family problems became horrible and then I got engaged and had to plan a wedding and move to a new town, I teach about 750 students a week, etc.

Here's my story:  I got diarrhea out of nowhere starting March 15 of this year.  I thought I had a flu or something like that.  Needless to say, it didn't go away and I was calling my doctor by mid April.  She ran blood tests and stool cultures...nothing was found, all was normal so she referred me to a GI specialist.  I had a colonoscopy, Upper GI x-rays, EGD, small bowel series, hida scan (for gallbladder), ultrasounds of abdomen and pelvis...you name it, I've had it. All negative.  SOOO...they say I have IBS with diarrhea.  I STILL have diarrhea/loose stools everyday.  Not 1 normal bowel movement during htis time.  It has slowed down though.  Instead of going 5-10 times a day, I go 1 or 2 times.  It always hits me right when I wake up in the morning to go to work.  I never feel any bad pain...just a sudden "urge" to go.

I bacame depressed, lost weight, losing hair, anxious...this made it WORSE.  I realized that I can let the ruin my life or I can "get on with it"...I choose to get on with it and enjoy life.  Who knows, maybe it will go away sometime!  :-)

I hope this helps and feel free to post me anytime you need to talk!  I UNDERSTAND what you are going through and there are others like you out here that would love to help you feel better.

I am a very stressed person, but mainly over being sick. I really do try not to focuse on this, I just feel so bad that I can't help myself. I have begged for an anti-d, they just brush me off . They did try bentyl & amitrip ( elavil ) it just made me worse. I am really concerned over the color of my bm's. I've seen threads on here about pale stools. My father passed away 2 yrs ago with hemochromotosis which tirned to liver cancer. I guess I still have very bad thoughts of that. I really think I am turning into hypo-C.But it is no wonder. I've really seen just how bad our medical profesion is. I've been to some doctors I would'nt take my dogs to!

Bentyl is for spasms and has phenobarbital in it. Not sure how that would work with elavil. There are so many antidepressants out there now and so many people are being helped. Please don't feel like you are becomeing a hypercondriac because I think everyone with IBS has that feeling since people really don't understand. I am sorry about your Dad but you know that is easy to check for it you are worried and should be controllable if caught early. Don't hesitate to ask for a test if it is worrying you. I am always stressed over something it seems and always worrying about something. It is a control problem with me.
