Hi,

For the past 3 weeks I have been on Hyoscyamine and Nortriptylin and they have not been helping with my stomach/abdominal pain at all. Has anyone ever been on them? Did they work at all for pain? Also, does anyone know if they take more than 3 weeks to start working?
Have had Mild/Severe Stomach/Abdominal pain for the last 12 months. Made a few trips to the ER for the pain. Have had no other syptoms of Crohn's or IBS that are typical. All tests showed nothing. Hernia surgeon thought it was a hernia. Went for Hernia Surgery (for nothing). After recent Colonoscopy, GI thinks its most likely Crohns, becuase of inflamation he saw in small Intenstine (but not 100% convinced yet). Going for the Camera Pill test next month. Tried Pentasa and Entocort for 6 weeks; both of which havene't done much to reduce this chronic-never-ending pain. Saw a different GI last week for a second opinion and he thinks I might have IBS, so for the past week I've been taking Hyoscyamine, Nortriptylin and Citrucel (of which aren't helping as of yet)

I have been on hyoscyamine for cramping (gall bladder attack, actually) and it never did a thing for me. There was another person or two on here who said it never did a thing for them either. Call your dr. and tell him that it's not working at all; there are a lot of anti-cramping meds out there, so surely he can find something that works for you.
