Most of us have colonoscopies to look for inflammation, not pre-cancerous polyps, but a recent internal study of dcotor's practices found that doctors who take longer to look at your colon find more pre-cancerous more polyps than doctors who go through the test faster. This may also mean that doctors who take more time to look at your colon would also find more inflammation and other areas of concern. Make sure you mention this study to your doctor when you go in and ask him to look slowly.
