Do the "plain" foods you're eating include veggies? Most veggies give us gas... especially if they are raw. Are you taking 2 Beano before your meal and 2 Gas-X after? Have you tried peppermint pills, tea and exercise? Probiotics will also help with the gas (if taken regularly for a few weeks).

Hi 7Lil ..
taking these pills will absorb the gas or let it out and cause more embarrassment ??

From what I understand, peppermint pills help relax the esophagus, so you may burp more, but I haven't heard that they cause you to poot more.

Oh, and from my experience, probiotics CAN cause you to poot more. My solution is to take one before bedtime so that they are pretty much through my system by the time I have to wake up and go to work.

Desert, Beano will help prevent gas. The Gas-X and peppermint pills will help dissolve current gas. The probiotics will help your guts create less gas (but only after you get used to them). If you go the route of probiotics, try picking 1 and testing it for at least a week. If you continue to have too much gas and/or cramps, pick another. Read the label... Some probiotics say to take with food, others are supposed to be taken on an empty stomach, while others say it doesn't matter.
We're all different and what works for 1 person may not work for another. For example, I can't handle Acidophilus, it makes me way too gassy. Whereas Keriamon loves it. I, on the other hand, LOVE Culturelle (has never made me gassy) and Keriamon can't handle it. There are so many probiotics out there, keep trying until you find one that works with you.

Not to mention the old addage "better out than in". There were times when my gall bladder was acting up and my gas was all trapped inside, and I'd have LOVED to have been able to poot or burp or something to get it out. If something gives me extra gas, then I try to avoid it, but if something relieves my gas--even if I have to let it out myself--then that's still a relief. You'd be surprised at how many times during the day when you're alone and you can let some out! And if yours aren't particularly stinky, then it's even easier, lol.
