Hey guys im back again with an update
Well the nausea and the feeling sick is gone thank god but everything went back to normal so the flagly only helped for about 2 - 3 days after the treatment. Yesterday i had a banana and then 6 minutes later i went to the bathroom and had a bowl movement. No D just a bit of poo came out and then when i flushed it all turned into dust. Also gas coming out and having a hard time to escape and at one time passing gas i thought i had D but when i went to the toilette bowl my underwear had a wet spot. And this was happening before i started the treatment of Flagly as well. Two nights ago i went out and had chinese food and alcohol and all was good i did get major gas but that was ok i guess. The bubbles near my rectum area has gone down a bit i feel it less but its still there. I drank some chocolate milk and it made me have a bowl movement but again no D and they usually are thicker than a pencil but still thin or at times they are thick and then little ones come out. My gas honest to gas sounds like this psssssssst. Sometimes it smells sometimes it doesnt. Last night i had chicken and rice and pears and have a BM so im really getting worried as im loosing more weight.
I gonna try probiotics now. But i live in Canada so i dont know if Digestive Advantage is sold here. Also if i take probiotics is there a possibility that i might get Diarrea or some other effects and is it good if you keep on having bowl movements ?? Because i do have minor minor pain on the left side of my abdomen and its always in the same spot and its there when u touch it as well and also now i have pain on the right side of my abdomen and also very  minor and there when you touch it and always in the same spot.
I am gonna start having more Activa Yogurt. But can anyone give me a name of a good probiotic to help jump start my road to recovery if i can recover.
Also i read about people using Digestive Advantage here. For the people in which it worked were they able to eat everything and anything again ???

Sorry the Flagyl didn't work. Now you need to get your good bacteria back in there. You can find all sorts of probiotics on the internet - probably even Digestive Advantage. The only side effects to probiotics are gas and bloating in the beginning. If you take a high enough dosage (when you just start) you may get D. You just have to start slow. It is like fiber - give your body time to adjust. My favorite probiotic is Culturelle. I also take KyoDophilus and Probiotic Pearls, and I eat Dannon Activia. I also have Digestive Advantage. When I 1st started taking probiotics I started on Acidophilus, but it gave me way too much gas and bloating.... Once I took a pill that had 5 million cultures and I spent the morning on the toilet and with cramps. We're all different though. You need to try probiotics until you find one that works for you. And no, don't expect to take Digestive Advantage (or any other probiotic) and be able to eat anything and everything. You will tolerate foods better - but you won't have an iron gut. Still keep away from fried foods and caffeine.
I hope you start feeling better soon...

When I take a probiotic I take Flora-Q (you can buy it in a drug store). My gastroenterologist recommended it. It gave me painful gas for a couple of days but that went away. I don't think it will cause D, it helps to slow it down.

I think you can get Digestive Advantage in Canada, but if not, you can always order it from an online pharmacy. There are several people on here who get theirs from online, so I'm sure they can recommend a safe place to order from.

No, probiotics will not make your D worse. They can make your gas worse, but that usually goes away with prolonged use. I take mine at night before bed so that I can sleep through the worst of my gas!

I don't think anyone who has gotten some or completely better on probiotics (most people only get some better) have been able to eat with abandon again. Most people will always have some problems with certain foods, although the use of probiotics may make the reaction to those foods less severe, or may allow you to tolerate them in small amounts on occasion. You will have to continue to be a bit picky with your food, even if the probiotics help you out a lot, but you should be able to go back to a relatively normal diet. You'll probably have to continue to avoid or consume sparingly alcohol, caffeine, apples and deep-fried foods.

Have you tried eliminating milk from your diet? Some people's IBS is lactose intolerance or dairy intolerance/allergy. Also, alcohol usually gives most people D and gas, so you should avoid that.

The D I got from Acidophilus I attributed to the gas and bloating. I hurt so bad there was nothing left to do. For you girls... It reminded me of my period - the gas and bloating accompanied with D.

Sometimes it can take a little bit after the course of Flagyl to feel relief from symptoms.  But you said you're not having any diarrhea, so that's a good sign!

I had to take 3 courses of Flagyl to achieve "remission" from my symptoms.  If you read my previous posts about it anywhere, I used to have profuse diarrhea 5-15 times a day for more than a year.  I was militant about taking my Flagyl, despite its occasionally nasty side effects (headache, funky taste in the mouth, nausea).  But I owe my remission to it - I only have diarrhea a few times a week now, which I consider pretty amazing, considering where I started!

I think the thing people have to remember is that their symptoms won't necessarily disappear over night.  It took months of slow improvement for me, as well as for many others.  If you try something, you have to give it time before you decide it didn't work.  You really have to meticulous in your self-care.  Best of luck to you.
