Hey guys hows it going??
Well me I am kinda scared and frustrated, also mad at the medical field because they take thier sweet dear time in doing things and i guess they are doing everything they can but it doesnt seem to show well for me anyways.
Well my pervious post i mentioned that i had just had a colonoscopy and they found imflamation. They said it explained some of the symptoms i had been experiencing. Those symptoms since the past 10 months were bloating, mucus in stools, gas, pain on the left hand side of abdomen and always in the same spot then it moved to the right hand side of abdomen and its always in the same spot. I also experienced blood but only when i whipped and then the next day it went away which is way wierd. Also experienced bubbles near the rectum area and then when i feel those bubbles gas would come out but feels like i had diarrea but when i check my underwear its all wet.  But now i am experiencing itching in my anus and more when i have a bowl movement but they are surprised i have no diarrea.
The Gi said if it turns out to be crohns then i have mild crohns but he doesnt think its crohns due to the heavy weight loss but waiting for labs to confirm. I lost about 16 pounds since may 1st 2006. They also have me on a stool test right now where i have to consume 100 grams a day. And my daily food intake is 2 mcextras from mcdonalds, 4 glasses of milk 2%, 4 activas the lil cups there, and a microwavable dinner. the only reason why ive been able to eat all of this is because of Flagly. That helped me i must say. I cant wait for the stool test to be over i have one more day. It is so annoying scooping up your stool. They should really make a kit. I just got a paint bucket looking like can and they told me to use some kind of tissue to hold the poop with one hand. That is just ridiculous to me so i bought a lil container and poop in there and then put it into the bucket and then wash the lil container for the next time. I hope im not contaminating anything.
Well i honestly dont know whats going on with my body, if its bacteria, or if i do indeed have something. My family medical history basically deals with heart problems and high blood pressure but no stomach related problems.

Umm... why does he think that Crohn's doesn't cause a lot of weight loss? Lord knows my uncle, who had it for decades, looked like a stick. From what I have read on the Crohn's boards too, weight loss is a pretty common symptom. A big weight change is not typical for IBS (although certainly plenty of people with D lose some weight).

Hi dee,
How are you feeling as of today? No pain, D, C, bloating, etc.?
I don’t know how long biopsy results take, but shouldn’t you know something by now? And what does “mild Crohn’s” mean? I thought you either had it or you didn’t. Guess I’ll look into that one.
The poop collecting is such an unpleasant experience… IMO there are few things worse. BUT hopefully it will help the docs out in diagnosing you. If you want to talk poop collecting you could probably get lots of helpful info from Sarita. She’s been doing the same as you; collecting poops on a daily basis. That reminds me, are you rushing to the lab immediately after collecting? Sarita mentioned to me she had a time limit from when it was collected to when it had to be at the lab. How annoying and inconvenient, but apparently poop is time sensitive.
What Keri says is true, you can lose weight with Crohn's. I think 1 of the few reasons Crohnies don't lose weight, or they actually gain weight, is because of their meds. Steroids (Prednisone) is notorious for causing weight gain.
Hope you get your results soon. Good luck!

One of the reasons my doctor atfirst didnt think I had IBS was because I wasnt loosing alot of weight
but my Homebound Teacher told me about a girl she taught and she lost 2lbs a week and her doctor was convinced that the daughter was makin herself throw up and it ended up she had Chrons and was on a feeding tube because she ended up getting soo skinny

I have moderate crohn's (as well as IBS) and it is classified as either mild, moderate or severe depending on how bad it is not whether you have it or not. Crohn's is not caused by weight loss but it can cause it. And it does not cause it in everyone who has it. I have had crohn's for 8 years and never lost weight from it, many do not. I hope you can get some answers and feel better soon.
