I don't know if cross-posting is allowed or not. I didn't see anything in the rules. If there's a problem with me posting this in two forums, please let me know. I didn't know if people from this forum got over the UC side and wanted to ask here as well.
I've been having odd symptoms for the past 2 mos. I've lost 10 lbs because I couldn't eat due to an awful feeling of reflux and nausea. I have had IBS since I was 18 and I'm now in my 40's, so I know what IBS is like. This isn't it! I had an EGD and it showed gastritis, but nothing going on with my esophagus. I've had reflux for the past 3 years and this is the worst it's been.
2 weeks ago, I had a terrible night with pains across my abdomen. Waves of them. Then I had a huge D session which ended with frank blood. The blood continued for a few hours, but no more stool. The pains continued, but not as severe, for several days. My GI sent me for a colonoscopy 4 days later and it showed severe inflammation. The link below is my scan of the pics he gave me. After the 'scope, he gave me a script
for flagyl. All I heard from him when I was waking up was, you have inflammation.
When I went for my follow up, he showed the narrowing of my colon and inflammation/ulceration. He said he took a biopsy, but it didn't show UC. (I understand it not showing crohn's, but can it show it's not UC?) I hadn't had further episodes of D, but I did have C. No vomiting. I felt better than I had before, and he said it was the flagyl. He told me then that I was a worrier and I got the feeling he thought it was all in my head.
Today, I'm nauseaous again, having crampy pains and have had 4BM's today. The last one was pure D w/painful cramps.http://us.a2.yahoofs.com/users/43b06920z8ba9a509/c33ascd/__sr_/16ddscd.jpg?phYto6FB3lp9WhQ1
I tried to make it a link... If it doesn't work, cut and paste into your browser.
I thought IBS wasn't supposed to be inflammatory? Does anyone have any ideas?
