Unfortunatly, removal of the gall bladder tends to leave a lot of people with bad Diahreah (sp?). The only way i have heard of from people with this is to have a basically fat free diet, or as low as you can possibly handle.

Maybe a good anti spasmodic, like buscopan or colofac IBS will be of help for the cramps, and some pain killers always on hand. I am sorry you have to go through this and hope you find some help here.

Take care

Hi mommy2006,
Welcome to HealingWell! :-)
For whatever reason, lots of people end up having gall bladder trouble after having a child. Has your doc spoken to you about getting on medication to help control the bile diarrhea?  There are a handful of people on this site that take Welchol (or the like) for managing their post gall bladder removal. Welchol is a cholesterol med that as a side effect helps control bile diarrhea associated with not having a gall bladder. Many people on this board also take calcium (citrate w/vitamin D) to help control their D. Keri, a veteran member, takes both Welchol and calcium to control her post gall bladder removal D. Hopefully she'll be on soon to share some tips and remedies.
Again, welcome to the site and sorry you have to be here. Glad you found us though because this is a great group.

UPDATE - I just remembered Keri is on vacation.  She won't be back for a couple weeks.  Oops, sorry.
