I'm at my fiancee's house for about four days (it's our spring break!), and we're doing a lot of wedding-type events. Last night we had a cookout/shower given to us, and there was no chicken in sight. The only things to eat were hamburgers and hot dogs. I had anticipated this, and took 2 of my enzyme capsules before we left, and I was feeling really good yesterday, so I thought why not. If I hurt, I hurt, and I haven't had a hamburger in three freaking months. So i had a hambuger AND a hot dog. And we stayed until like 10, and then came home and I went to bed, and had NO problems. At all! You have to understand that I haven't had red meat since January, because it's one of my main triggers, and I have been craving it so bad - that hamburger tasted amazing. This morning I'm a tad bit gassy, but nothing I'm not used to anyway, and I am just SO excited. I was really worried about how miserable all this shower stuff would make me, and I'm just praying that my enzymes will get me through the next week with all the non-IBS friendly food. So we'll see how that goes. And it's not like I'm going to go crazy and eat McDonald's every day (ewww) or anything, but it is nice to know that I can get through a trigger or two with some good enzymes :) (Plus, it makes all this wedding stuff way more fun, knowing that I'm not going to be dreadfully ill).
