I had an appointment today with the colorectal nurse regarding bio feedback. She had all of my notes and the previous test results. I have been diagnosed with:
1) anismus
2)Slow transit constipation
3)Proctalgia Fugax
4) Scar tissue/adhesions affecting the colon
So, two years of tests, referrals, second opinions, doctors telling me i was depressed, had ibs, etc etc i finally have some answers and I can't begin to tell you how much better i feel already! I have been given some home irrigation equipment. I have to self irrigate daily for the next 6 weeks (not too sure about that one!) Then they will reasess me. There are surgical options too later on. One is called an appendix wash (but funnily you don't need to still have your appendix!) The coloractal nurse was so kind and caring and I am hopeful for a near normal life for the first time in over 2 years. I also have to get some anti spasmodic meds from my gp. Thanks to all who answered my questions and gave me invaluable info. x x

I'm glad you got some answers. Are you still going to try the biofeedback? I hear that helps with anismus to control the muscles. I also have proctalgia fugax and it hurts so (((HUGS))) to you, I get relief with antispasmodics so I hope they work for you also. Hopefully the irrigation that the doctor recommends for you can give you some relief.

Take Care
