  Hi everyone,

I'am in the learning process, and have a ton of questions.

1. With IBS do you have crampy pain or can you have constant pain that becomes stabbing when you move?

2. Is it normal when you have a bm the pain is not relieved?

3. Can IBS have a cycle?(seasons)

4. Can IBS go away on its own w/o meds?

Thank you for any ideas or answers.

Hi NH66, Of course everyone is different with their IBS but I will reply with me personally:
1. With IBS do you have crampy pain or can you have constant pain that becomes stabbing when you move?

I get cramping although not always constant, was worse before taking fiber.

I do get stabbing pain on my lower left side but that is from diverticulosis and not IBS (for me).

2. Is it normal when you have a bm the pain is not relieved?

Yes, sometimes I don't feel that I fully evacuated so I will be uncomfortable for awhile. Drinking water usually helps with this.

3. Can IBS have a cycle?(seasons)

YES

4. Can IBS go away on its own w/o meds?

Some people do not have to take meds, changing ones diet can help or eliminate the need but not for everyone. I personally do have to take meds for mine as diet alone doesn't help me completely.

dbab,

Thanks, i just read the site. I have way to much to learn. Starting to feel like a grain of sand on a beach, when it comes to knowledge.
