I Have chronic pain in my lower right abdomen, I take triavil for my IBS but I still have Pain most everyday, I take different over the counter meds but it does not seem to help, I know triavil is not a pain med but in reading about the studies and chronic pain it can help, any advice on hoew to relive the pain would be great.

Get a blood test for appendix and also a pelvic CT scan. It could be chronic appendicitis. Have you seen a Dr?

Hi LuckyDucky,
Welcome to HealingWell! :-)
What sort of tests have been through for the doc to attribute your pain to IBS? What Canyon mentions is good advice, your appendix should be checked and maybe your gallbladder too. Have you been scoped to check for IBD (Crohn's or UC) and/or Diverticulosis? Have you spoken to your doc about antispasmodics?

I have been scoped poked scanned blood tested you name it and it has been done. I have had every organ in my body checked (I have no working ovaries my appendix looks good as does my gallbladder no blood test indicate any infection) I feel like I am crazy and it is all in my head I do not have any signs of Chron's or otherwise.

Did they just check your bloodwork for the gall bladder and appendix, or did they do an ultrasound on the appendix and a hida scan on the gall bladder?

I assume that you have ovaries but that they don't release eggs? Have you had them checked out by ultrasound anyways? Just because they don't release eggs doesn't mean that they can't develop cancer. Probably could easily develop cysts since they don't function properly. Also, there are other things to look at down there, such as fybroid tumors or endometreosis on the uterus.

Looks like there has to be a reason for that very localized pain.

I assume you have had a pelvic CT scan with contrast. I think that would show most every available reason including ovaries, appendix, fibroids, etc. Sometimes an ovarian cysts has burst and it will cause pain for quite a while till the body heals or absorbs it or something. i know I have an ovarian cyst left over from my younger days. It has not changed in years so is benign but it shows very well on the CT scan.

I hope I am doing this right so I don't mess up again. I am new to this forum,
Listen to yourself. If you are hurting, see another doctor or specialist. Have you thought about a pain clinic with a pelvic pain program? Or steriod injections into the spine. I feel bad that you have pain. Until more is figured out perhaps some other people have different ideas. I got some relief from osteopathy - usually found in pain clinics or private practice. I would go to private practice though.
