I've been having some strange feelings in my intestines. It doesn't hurt, but it feels like a muscle twitch. It lasts about 10 minutes then stops. It comes and goes all day long and has been happening for a couple days now.

Any thoughts? Could this be IBS related?

I've had fluttering feelings in my guts for no reason. If you're not having any pain or bowel problems, then it may very well be some sort of mescle twitch. I sometimes get eye twitches off and on for several days. Lack of sleep and stress seem to cause mine, so if you're in a similar way right now, try sleeping more and getting away from stress (or at least counteract it with relaxation techniques).

The other thing that has caused fluttering in my bowels are sugar alcohols. These are found in sugar-free candy, gum, mints, ice cream, etc., etc. If you've been eating anything sugar-free lately (other than colas; they use Equal or Sweet-N-Low), cut that out and see if your twitches go away. They cause bowel problems in a lot of people.

Well I have fibro, so that may be causing it then. I do get weird twitches elsewhere on my body (eyelids, fingers etc...) And I'm "allergic" to fake sugars and don't eat them. Thanks!

My mother has fibro; it can cause you to have bowel problems, so that might be why you're getting twitches.

One of her doctors told her that chemicals seem to make the fibro worse and recommend her to try an all organic diet. I don't know if she's still on it (pretty expensive), but she said she thought she noticed a difference; she didn't seem to wake up hurting quite as much.

Does it feel like your other twitches?
I get them inside, outside, up and down! I take sublingual B12 and extra magnesium for them.
I get alot of funky bowel sensations, especially right up under my stomach. I've always said it feels like a small animal is living in there! Try the B12.
