9 months ago i had a colon resection due to cecal volvulus (9 months ago). in any case, i often notice white spots (very apparent) in my stool. sometimes i have orange spots as well, but i always have white spots. does anyone have any idea why this might be happening? any advice or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. thank you so much.

Sometimes food goes through undigested so this may be what it is. Are you having any pain with it? If so, you may want to talk to your doc. Will you have a post op follow up in the near future? You may want to mention it to him so you don't have to worry.

Have you cross-posted to the Chron's and Ostomies forums? Most IBSers have never had a colon surgery, so the spots may have something to do with that. Also, as Des mentions, undigested food can show up in your stool a day or two after you eat it. This is especially true for people with D or who are missing part of their colons (and therefore can't digest as much).
