Hi everyone,

I would like to hear about your defecation times per 24 hrs. I am really curious about it. Am I the only one that does it many times?_Waiting for your answers....

Hi cagatay,
When I'm having a terrible time with my IBS I can go up to 5 times in 24 hours. I have, however, learned quite well how to manage my IBS so those days are few and far between. On a day to day basis I only go once, maybe twice, in a 24 hour period.
How many times do you go? Are you taking anything to help manage it?

What do you mean you do not pass stool all the time?  Is it mucus?

Calcium is probably one of the best ways to help control constant D.  It is most definitely worth a try.

With all that going your are flushing out your good bacteria, you might want to take probiotics as well.

I am so glad I found this website/board. I have frequent bowel movements, usually at least 3 every day but usually more, with narrow stools, and until I found this site I was getting very scared that I have colon cancer. After reading about IBS here I see that my symptoms are quite the norm for IBS.

I am still going to see the dr, but at least I can relax a bit until then, thanks to this site!
