Does anyone here have a dairy intolerance? And what are your symptoms? I battle nausea more than I care to and lately it feels more "sour" if that makes sense. Also (and this is pretty embarrassing) I will have foul smelling flatulence on occasion.

I am taking Zoloft (prescribed by GI) and it does seem to be helping with my mood (anxiety). I am still battling constipation and upset stomach and I wish like heck I could figure out the reason for the upset stomach. As you can tell that is my biggest complaint. I was told that the Zoloft will help with my IBS and so far I am waiting for some results. So now I am trying to get to the bottom of my symptoms on my own. Any help or advice would be appreciated.

I cannot tolerate milk and some milk products. I can eat cheese but not cream sauces, ice cream and I guess you could say more milk like products. I bloat up with gas. It is not just the lactic acid in milk that one can be sensitive to as there are apparantly other enzymes in milk that are hard to digest. I was told as we age it is even harder to digest milk for some people apparantly I am one of them. Bloating can cause nausea but so can many other things. The best way to tell is to stop all milk products for a week and see how you feel. As far as I know it is the only real way to tell.

I am highly intolerant to all dairy products and can no longer consume anything dairy. It's been a slow progression over the years to reach this stage .... starting with milk.

It's good you are already aware of some of the things you are unable to tolerate. But maybe you could think about getting some food allergy/intolerance tests done? I finally did this as I could no longer see for looking what was causing me so much stress and upset. As well as the things I suspected, it threw quite a few suprises at me and now having cut out all the allergy causing foods, my IBS has improved quite dramatically. Still not perfect but MUCH better and manageable!

I HAD lactose intolerance issues but since taking the primadophilus reuteri probiotics daily I no longer have that issue...and mine was SEVERE too, it also aids with high cholesterol and vaginal health.
