I had three HIDA scans done over the course of 5 years. Of course that was my problem all along because once it came out, the pain went away. So if this doesn't work, go to another doctor and do it again. Your symptoms are just too perfectly gall bladder in nature for it not to be that. I mean, your's are more perfectly gall bladder than mine were.
I think the tech gave you your clue. My stepfather was a tech, and he did two of my tests. Finally, on the last one, he said, "It's not working!" But technically techs aren't allowed to tell you that; it has to come from the radiologist who reads the numbers (although all the techs know what the numbers mean). That yours said something wasn't right indicates that he saw your numbers and knows that they weren't good.
I got my results from my test later that same day (might be because of my stepfather and the radiologist being best friends), so if you don't hear from your doctor real soon, call to harrass.
Thank you for the advice and I will definitely harass that office if I do not hear back soon!! When the tech injected the CCK and asked me to rate my pain and I told him a 5 on a scale of 1-10..while you could probably see the agony on my face...he began writing down things on my chart. When I told him I was in pain he quickly replied "We may be on to something!" and he kept patting my shoulder and telling me to hang in there. He asked to rate my pain about
3-4 times through the whole test and if I was having any nausea. I am hoping this means that this test gave an answer. I am tired of being in pain and getting sick when I eat. The thought of my numbers coming out okay yet I am still in agony and the doctor wont do anything really concerns me...but as you said..if they do nothing..move on to another one who will!!
