Don't know what I am going thru now but every morning I am being awakened by the burning in my intestines and some discomfort in stomach. The burning is the main problem. After I am up and go to bathroom it gets better. I am having a terrible acid problem now and have been for the last month and just can't seem to get it under control. WAs put on double dose Nexium and Gaviscan but Nexium made me shaky(at least I think it was that) Have followup appt with endo on Monday and will set up endo appt. I am lactose intolerant so it is not that. Does this sound like something a the hydrogen breath test would be called for. He has never suggested that. I am on Avelox now for a bronchial infection but this started before that .
open to suggestions.

I'd try the breath test. I mean, it's not painful or anything, so why not?
I wonder if Welchol would help in the stomach? I know it helps in the intestines, and I think it would work in the stomach too, but I don't know anyone that's tried it. It only works on bile, so I don't think regular stomach acid would qualify. Depends on what kind of acid you have, I guess, if it would help any or not. But it can make you constipated, and I think that's a problem you already have? No need to add to it.

No, can't use anything that makes me constipated. The acid is the acid the stomach has which digests food, I think. It comes back thru the valve. I don't know what the solution is. I sure get no answers as to why I have so much acid problems. Unfortunately the gas causes me to cough which means I take in more air which causes me to bloat. Sometimes it goes away for months and then WHAM it hits for weeks. I will ask about
the breath test and go back on the probiotics and see how that does.
