Has anyone used this? I got back from the Kidney doctor a few minutes ago and they are going to start me on this next week. Right now they are making sure my insurace will pay for it? Apparently it will be the new IV Iron and it only takes 17 seconds to give it and I will wait 30 minutes to have my BP taken every 10 minutes and make sure I don't have any reactions? I will get one dose next week and then another dose the next week. So a total of 2 doses compared to the other IV of iron that takes 2 hrs several times a week. Pretty cool ( I think) I will be the first person that they give it to from my docs office...So just curious if anyone else has tried this? I believe the FDA approved it in the states in June or July so its really new!!!

I guess once I get my doses of this and get my RBC to where they should be, I will start the procrit shots...Anyone had the procrit shots? What can I except from those?

Sounds simple enough. But I have never heard of it before. You need to keep us updated. I'm curious.

Question Amy??? My husband got some startling blood results back yesterday. He's got HIGH RBC's and severe Vitiman D defiencincy. Why are your RBC out of wack???

Hey Laurie! My RBC in my urine is caused from Lupus attacking my kidneys.

Certain medicins can cause RBC to go out of wack. Mine is a mixture of the Chemo and Lupus. When your kidneys arn't fuctioning all the way its hard to produce the hormone erythropoietin which helps your bone marrow make the proper amount of RBC's.

Has the doc mentioned why he thinks he has the RBC and Vitamin D defency?
