Hi,

My 29 year old daughter has Crohn's and may need to see a urologist.  Does anyone have a recommendation for a urologist in Los Angeles?

Thanks in advance.

Debbie

DebbieCrohns,

I'm not a physician by any means, this is just my experience.

Hello, I'm Serenitee, its nice to meet you. I'm not from the LA area, but I am on my 4th Urologist. Something I wasn't aware of & in case you didn't know I thought I would share it with you. Depending on what your daughter is having problems with can determine whether or not if she should see a Regular Urologist or a Urogynecologist. Urogynecologist's are in a specific field all in itself, & there is very few & far between of them, unfortunately. Since it can take up to a couple months to get in to see a Urologist it can be of a little frustration if you see the Urologist first but end up needing to see the Urogynecologist & having to wait all over again.

I'm sure my situation was different from your daughters...As 7-pregnancies & 43-years of I.B.S/I.B.D. Destroyed my insides.

Unfortunately, this is how I learned this. I have been seeing Urologist's since 2004 & I had an abdominal Hysterectomy with my 1st-Bladder Lift w/mesh in May 2004. It only lasted 5-years. Then in July 2009, my Colon tore thru my Vaginal Wall & the Colon + Bladder fell out of my body thru the Vagina...Causing much destruction in the process. This is how I learned of the 2-different Urologist's. Made an appt. with the 1st-Urologist (he had performed my 1st-bladder lift). Even with everything literally on the outside of my body, I still had to wait 2-months to be seen. The 2-months came & I then found out he could do nothing & I had to see the Urogynecologist, another couple months later. Needless to say, it took me 6-months before I could have the Bladder, Colon, & everything lifted back up w/mesh. This time it last 1-year & I began having unbearable Pelvic Pain & Bladder Pain. I found a different Urogynecologist & am currrently in his care.

I wish her all the best. Sending you both Smiles & Rainbows your way.

Serenitee
