Hi I usually post in the lupus section but I think some of you might be able to help me. I am having a cystoscopy done on Friday and I am extremely nervous. It's done under general anesthesia and I have never been under general before. What should I expect before and after the procedure?

before your surgery they will have you to dress in there hospital gown the nurse will come in ask a few questions and then the anastesiologist will be in to talk to about allergies... he will then explain to you there will be an iv placed in either your hand or arm then you will b wheeled in the operating room where it will be very cold and u can ask for blankets they will then have you to slide over to there table and you will lay on your back the anastesiologist will then put on a o2 mask and he will then start putting meds in your iv and u will b asleep within 30 seconds. you should remeber anything till you wake up u will still be a lil groggy and maybe thirsty they will also give u meds for your pain. if outpatient u will b taken over to where your family is if you are staying u will b in the recovery room a couple of hrs till they get u a room ready
