Hi, new to this site, just have a few queries.
I recently got told due to a blood test that I may have ckd. Now I haven't got a clue what this means.
My reading was 51, so was told to do another blood test 3 months later, which I did and results came back at 48, then got told to do another test, one month later, again results showed a drop, came back at 45.
My dr sent a referral to a renal clinic, but not heard back yet.
I've googled a few things, but as I say, I really don't know what it means. Is this bad? Can I be helped. Can I do anything to help etc.
I googled and heard that diet soda drinks can affect kidneys, and as I used to drink quite a few of these, I have decided to give them up. I gave up smoking nearly 3 years ago.
I have quite low blood pressure and have been tested for diabetis which came back negative.
I do like a drink (wine and beer), regularly. Probably drink more than i should, a bottle of wine on friday and sometimes saturday, maybe one or two beers.
I'm not a big salt eater, don't eat ready meals, don't add salt to food, cooking etc. but I do like rice crackers (salt and vinegar) and I like crisps.
Just trying to put all the things I do do, down, so give some history and would love advice on what this means, short term, long term and what I can do to help myself.
Should I be drinking alcohol with possible kidney disease. I don't suppose it's any good for me, kidney disease or not :(
Advice would be more than welcome.
