So I went into the ER in nov in agony; they eventually found a large kidney stone. Was causing hydronephrosis and I was so I'll, lost 10 POundsin a week. Had ureteroscopy on the stone which was impacted in my ureter. Dr couldnt believe how impacted it was!
Had a stent for a week.
Had slight back pain once stent was out, nothing major. But in ultrasound, kidney was swollen again. So back for surgery. He found stricture where stone was impacted. He lasered it and stent placed for 2 weeks.
Two days after stent was removed, pain returned. Went for ultrasound but things look normal and creatinine level is normal.
Any ideas why I have the flank pain?
This has been a long 2 months and I feel like there is still something wrong.
Anyone with stricture experience?

I would like to know if you feel better yet. I too had a kidney stone removed on 4/19. They told me it would be a simple surgery and I strictured the day I had my stent removed and it was so painful. They made me wait over a week to place another stent. I had a balloon dilation but when the stent was removed 3 weeks later another stone decided to show up and get stuck. I had an ultrasound on Monday and it says that my kidney is no longer swollen when I was told it would take a long time to go down. I still have odd pain in my back and groin (where my stricture was). My creatinine is also normal. Thank goodness I found someone with the experience.

wow! I am not encouraged by this... my 10 year old is having her 2nd 5mm stone out next week. The weird thing is, 6 months ago when they took out the first one, the second one was not even there! How can such big stones come so quick??
She initally had the nephrosis, but within 24 hours the stone dropped and then wore a hole in the ureter. The doc went in and took out the stone, and put a stent in for 1 month. She had the stent out, and recovered fine. ( Up until she took her pyridium, went to school and vomited it on the nurses' office took off the varnish and stained the floor permenantly orange!)
Now she is having pain again, and has the 2nd stone. So we are getting it out next week.
any advice?

Hello All

I'm new to this forum and came across this page while googling for my condition. I'd my kidney stones removed a year ago and seemingly all was well till about a month ago when I started getting lower back pain again.

The recurring pains in my lower back were in the same area where i'd my lithotripsy to remove the stones. My urologist did a basic xray with contrast material which showed heavy stricturing of the uretral wall. Its still unclear for the exact reason for the stricturing.

Hence wanted to get some more opinions from those who have under gone this condition, and what sort of treatment could I opt for this condition.
