I've been struggling for over a month now with kidney stones attached to the sides, cysts and calcium deposits on my kidney. The main hospital I've gone to has done nothing to help. I don't know if that is mainly due to me having no insurance. But I feel like they keep running tests, finding additional things, but giving no solutions. "Just wait it out. It shouldn't be causing pain since their embedded." WHAT?! I've missed an average of 2-3 days each week due to the pain. I've had 4 ER visits...4! And its all due to pain. I have received no medication from them to assist with these problems. My 4th ER visit, I went to a different hospital. They were luckily able to get my medical records from the other hospital. They want me to see one of their Urologists, but I'm scared of getting the run around...again. My medical bill right now is almost $5,000. I don't need to rack up another bill with another hospital. What do I do with no insurance? Any home remedies or something not costing an arm and a leg? Any suggestions on who is the best to see in Springfield, MO or rows close by?

I have a suggestion. Call the hospital where you have bills and ask them if they have a financial assistance program and how to apply. Most hospitals do have assistance but you have to ask for it. I have a family of 3 with a middle class tax bracket and I recieved 60% off my bill. What a great relief. Also check to make sure that there are no programs through your state for some kind of insurance. Some states if you sighn up even if you went to the hospital before you applied they will still cover that date as well. I have worked with Medicaid for several different states. Not in MO though but thought that this info might help your finacial sustuation get a little better and less stress on you the better. Good luck and if you think I can answer insurance questions for you go ahead and ask. (:

sounds like polycystic kidney disease, which i have. kidney cancer also causes cysts and causes them to calcify.
