Hello all

My friend has a persistent kidney infection for months, stemming from urinary tract infection

keeps getting sick

prescribed a million different antibiotics but nothing seems to help

last one prescribed for 3 months and accidentally missed taking for 4 days. Got badly sick again.

Does anybody have any experience with these persistent infections?

She really needs to get rid of it

So much pain and fever, she's ending up having to take days off and spend them in hospital!

If anybody has similar please can you share what has seemed to work, what hasn't etc? Thanks a lot!

Had similar consistent UTI 's for one year. Tried every antibiotic out there with no relief. My doctor finally ordered a CT scan of kidney to rule out stones. I had a very small kidney tumor that was removed. Never had another infection after the surgery.

I suffer from calcium oxalate stones and have had many UTI's over the past 10 years. For me, iv antibiotics work better than tablet form for serious infections. I have had a picc line installed and self-administered the iv drip at home. ( a home health nurse came to teach me how and to check and rebandage the picc line. Doctors usually keep me on drip 7-14 days depending on the type of infection. I also have end stage liver disease so the doctors constantly check me for infections.
