Hi my name is Jamie I am a mother of 3 and have had multible kidney stones over the years this time I have a good sized one in what they call "the meat" of the kidney, they sent me to Dartmouth Hospital which is 2.5 hours away from my home, I went there yesterday and was basicly a transporter for the ct scan disk. They are having a meeting today about how to get the stone out. They say there is no possible way to get it out other than to go into my back, I am terrified to have that done. If anyone has had this done or wants to share there storey that would be great.

Jamie,
Sorry to hear what you are going thru. I have not had to have that kind of stone removed. Do they know why you are making them?
We just had to do a 24 hour urine collection for our daughter (she is 10 and now has her 3rd stone since december) They said it came back that hers are from an overabundance of calcium. Her doctor told her only 1 dairy item a day, and at least 2 glasses of lemonade made from real lemons everyday.
She apparently isn't making enough citrate to keep them from forming.
Maybe if you hit the lemon hard it can help break it up some, and then you can pass it? I don't know...I know what the doc and I find AMAZING is that fact that my daughter shows NO signs or symptoms until they are bigger than a pencil eraser. And when he went in in December to remove the first one, there weren't anymore there..but in July she had one that was over 6mm! We went for another ultrasound the other day because she said her back hurt and there are 3 more. :(
Well, best of luck to you...but I would maybe talk to an herbologist, or someone in the homeopathic field to see what they suggest.
Best of luck..
