A little about my self male 48 over weight, I do not smoke or drink 2 months ago had a colonscopy done then had a abdominal ultrasound the digestive DR. found a mass on right kidney, the dr. order a cat scan with contrast, then sent me to a urologic care, Urology DR. did a MRI with contrast, 2 weeks after that show a 17mm mass, the DR. said the mass did not light up on the MRI, blood work was good no blood in urine, no protein i have no pain
before the Dr looked at MRI told me i only have two chosses remove part of the kidney or the whole kidney.
got MRI report 17 mm lesion projecting from the lateral right kidney. this is suspected to enhance somewhat following contrast administration, therefore the possibility of solid renal mass such as renal cell carcinoma would have to be raised.

I am scared and do not know what too do. I want to find another DR. and if i have to have the kidney removed can i wait a few months. i want to lose 40 lbs before i get this kidney removed
my wife tell me just remove the whole kidney.
Do i go get another opinion
