I have ADPKD as does my dad (though my kidneys are horseshoe... lucky me). My dad is currently preparing to begin dialysis. I am only 22 and when I last visited the doctor, my kidney function was fine (though that was over 3 years ago... i've been afraid to go back since my dad got sicker). This morning, I woke up at 7am with awful diarrhea and stomach pain. I felt like I was having a baby or something. This is pretty normal in my life as I also have Ulcerative Colitis. I thought nothing of it and I went to work (an 11.5 hour shift) and when I got home I felt like I had to use the restroom again. I went, wiped, and screamed for my dad. The toilet was full of black urine and the rim was a lighter red. I was nauseous and tired throughout the day and am really worried now. I haven't had blood in years; since I was first diagnosed... and my dad hasn't had blood in years either. He said he knew it was scary but we had to wait it out and see what happens. I was just wondering if this has happened to anyone else. I'm trying to be strong, but in the last three days, my aunt and a good family friend passed away and I just feel like I'm waiting with a centipede for the other shoe to drop.

Sorry if this seems melodramatic, i'm just really scared. Thanks again.
