My PCP had my blood work done:

eGFR on 11/02/2012 - 54
Repeated test on 11/03/2012 - 62
Repeated test on 02/02/2013 - 59

My age is 32, in all visits spot urine test came back normal and on 02/02/2013 PCP recommended 24 hr urine test.

24 hr Urine protein - 228 Ref - 0.00-150
24 hr Urine creatinine - 3.85 Ref 1.00 to 2.00

Total urine volume give for test was 3800 ML which

Does this test result looking alarming given my age?

How long does it take to move from stage 3 to stage 4 if you are on diet and do regular excercise, will someone be able to manage for few years without a need for dialysis, any advise is appreciated. I am going to see a nephrologist in few weeks , also is there any medication for stage 3 CKD ?

Thanks

Hi scaredsoul! I can tell you how my personal kidney failure went. Diagnosed with PKD at age 19. Remained at stages 1-3 for 20+ years. Around age 41 I slipped into the stage 4 range and stayed there until last week, when I slipped to stage 5. (I am 44). For my particular disease, there is no known treatment. The neph's advice is to eat a low protein, low sodium diet and control my BP. I tried to do all of these things, yet here I am in stage 5. It seems to me that there is no rhyme or reason to kidney disease. Since I don't know what type of disease (if any) you have, I can't help too much. When you see the neph, ask lots of questions. It never hurts to speak with a dietician, also. Best of luck to you! Don't let it take over your life!
