My husband has a large kidney stone which is 11MM, but he was having some microscopic blood in his urine.  After a cystoscopy, they found numerous polyps.  We are concerned about them being  benign and not cancerous.  How common are polyps in the bladder?  Now he has a catheter in him, and they are holding off doing anything about the large kidney stone. The blood was not coming from the stone.

Hi Sue and welcome to the forums at HW.

I have had stones so I can certainly relate to those and that's a pretty good size one. Keeping an eye on it will be a must and there are several ways to insure it passes without causing damage and a catheter is one of them.

Polyps are common and can develope most anywhere and most are benign in nature. If they cause some blockage or interfere with function of organs then it becomes necessary to remove them.

They also will be watched to insure their status doesn't change.

Hope this helps some and healing thoughts to your husband.
