After much research and searching I stumbled upon this site. I know that what I am about to say may sound crazy but I have been dealing with kidney stones for the past two years. The first few episodes I had of kidney stones ranged from 6mm - 9mm stones in the first year. They were calcium oxlate stones after lab studies were performed. I went a few months and produced a few more and have to get stint placement for these stones, and then underwent basket retrieval method because the stint placed was to small and stones grew in size.

Last year I had a perc done due to a 4 inch stone yes 4 inch stone that was calcium oxlate as well. 6 weeks after the perc I had to go and get ewsl done because I had 14 stones that formed since that surgery. All was fine for a few months until more stones started to develop again in the same kidney. Since jan of this year I have passed 74 stones and had 1 lithotripsy completed. The doctors are baffled at why I am producing so many stones. It has been less than a month since this litho was performed and now I am at 14 stones again in the right kidney and 5 stones in the left kidney. All my issues has been in the right only. The only doctors that I see are urologists. I am getting so tired of living with stones and not finding the issue at hand. I have been put on a renal diet and that has not worked tried vitamins that the doctors have put me on and that has not helped. Toradol no longer works, and they prescribed hycosomine and that helps with the spasms of my kidney. But I cannot continue to pass stones and or go back again and again for litho because I was told that procedure can only be performed a few times.

I am at a loss for words and just completely out of options. If anyone has had anything similar to this please let me know. I am racking up medical bills like crazy even with insurance trying to get rid of stones. I know that these stones are damaging my kidney they have to be because once my kidney is empty of stones the pain and cramps and spasms continue. I have had difficulty urinating and the doctor has put me on rapaflo and this helps with the urine flow but it appears that my pressure in my kidney is worse when taking this medicine.

Any insight would be greatly appreciated.

Welcome to Healing Well.

Very sorry to hear why you have joined us. I had a problem with stones that developed fast the last couple years, but no where near as bad as you have got it.

Sorry I can't offer any insight though.

Take care,
Bill

Thanks for replying it seems like that is the same answer that I am getting from everyone. I am going back to the urologist in the morning and I am pretty sure that will be his response as well. It just gets so frustrating dealing with this everyday. It seems like the pain has become pretty much everyday, and the spasms in the kidney are horrible. Nothing helps it anymore and I am having surgery on top of surgery and stones keep reforming.

Hopefully the urologist will have answers for you. I feel very bad for you with having to deal with this all the time.
My uterers are small and I can't pass anything 4mm or larger. I haven't figured out how anyone can keep having the stents placed. My body reacts very badly to them and the longest I was able to keep 1 in was 5 days.

Take care,
Bill
