Looking for some help with a medical issue I am having.  In may of this year I was told I had a 7mm stone in my left kidney.  After lots of effort to get my 5'4 115 lb body to pass the stone, I was finally sent in for surgery on in the beginning of August.  After the urologist blasted the stone he placed a stint in, where it stayed for two weeks.  I had a lot of pain while the stint was in, but he said I had excessing swelling and it had to stay.  After he tool the stint out he said I would be hurting for about a week.  Two weeks later I went back in because I was in 24/7 pain.  He thought I had another stone so I went in for another CT scan.  When the results came up with no stone, he referred me back to my primary doc and told me I was fine.  Since I had the stone blasted, 2 1/2 months ago, I have been in pain every single day.  It is radiating from below my kidney and it gets a crap ton worse when I drink anything.  I am getting a second opinion from a different urologist but the appt isnt for another week.  None of the meds help, heating pads, baths, nothing.  Sometimes its a stabbing pain, other times its a pulsing pain.  Does anyone know what this could be if its not a kidney stone?  At least when I had the stone it would go away for a little while, this pain I have now never goes away, just dies down a little and then gets stronger every day as the day goes on.  Any help or words of advise would be appreaciated.  I am desperate for some answers!

Welcome to Healing Well, sorry for the reason you are here though.

I had a very similar problem with my 1st stone. When they blasted it, they didn't get all of it out and for some reason the stent had pressed the fragments into my uterer and they were imbedded. That didn't show up on the CT or Xray. My stent was only in place for 4 days.

I went to a different urologist and they went in to look. They said it looked like the inside of a cave with all the pieces poking out. I ended up having 3 more surgeries to finally remove all the pieces. This was over a 8 month period.

Take care,
Bill
