Hi, my name is jalisa i am a kidney transplant patient with a creatinine of 1.6 and I was wanting to try for pregnancy but i was told i was going to be on a drug called Imuran. I was curious to know have anyone been on this med and it was ok willing to talk over phone

Hi. I'm hardly an expert on the matter, since I'm a guy. But I did a little research and this is what I found on the National Institute of Health Website:

Infants exposed to AZA in early pregnancy may be at a moderately increased risk of congenital malformations, specifically ventricular/atrial septal defects. There is also an increased risk of growth restriction and preterm delivery. These associations may be confounded by the severity of maternal illness.

Other websites seem to say this drug is contraindicated for women who are pregnant or may become pregnant.
