Traveling out of state and getting lab tests?

Hello. I am new to kidney disease. A week ago my nephrologists told me I only have 20% kidney function. I will have to be on dialysis at 10%. I am on a fun RV hiking trip but how do you get lab tests so I will know if the procrit shot a week ago has raised my 10.5 hemoglobin? Doc's are not allowed to order tests out of state that their licence is only in the state their license is? I know this as my husband is a doc and I talked to my nephrologist from CA. and he has no idea. My hubbie is a radiologist so he is not a treating doc just a diagnostician. I'm out 3 more weeks and would like a blood test to see if I need more procrit? Any more experienced person with that experience would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
