Hello all. I'm from the lupus forum normally as thats what I have but I've been peeking around here from time to time. My 12 yr old daughter was born w/ third degree heart block and then was diagnosed with minimal change nephrotic syndrome when she was 2. She has been on and off prednisone(mostly on) since then. She has currently also been doing a yearly round of rituximab (sp?) infusions for the last 5 years along w/ a bunch of other meds. She usually goes into remission after the rituximab anywhere from a year to 6 months. Its gotten shorter each time. But this past time she did not at all, though things did improve. They did a biopsy when she first became ill but have yet to do another one . I guess even if it has developed into something more severe it wouldn't be treated any differently at this point. My questions are do any of you have or had nephrotic syndrome? And has it gone away? I remember reading once a long time ago that sometimes the onset of puberty can cause it to go and stay in remission? Any thoughts or knowledge would be great. Knowledge is always great . Thank you.
