Redrose . . the breathing techniques taught in med-free child birth classes are WAY helpful. I delivered 3 of my four w/o meds and two of those were posterior (back labor). If you lose your concentration or don't follow the technique you KNOW it wasn't just an easy delivery, but that the methods work. My youngest is 25 now so I don't know what these classes are called anymore. But its not just the typical "childbirth" classes. WAY worth the effort of attending classes. I think you could get material form the library . . . but you would need to be super dedicated to do all the practicing, as you can't just read it . . .you have to "become" it. . . which requires practicing most every day for a few weeks. Just a thought. (Oh . . . I vowed after the first delivery which was medicated, that I would have more control over any subsequent deliveries.) Anyway . . . you still have the option of medication, but you have the bonus of self help too.
