Hi Misscali, I have been on effexor for 4 years. Everyone is different especially when it comes to anti-d's. Most I can't take for one reason or another but I have never had any noticable problems with effexor. I already take xanax for anxiety. Last year my anxiety level went up and instead of strengthening my xanax they strengthened my effexor which did help some.

The doctor wants to change me to cymbalta because it helps with nerve pain also but I am fighting switching them. I really don't like the idea of changing somthing that is working.

I'm sure you will find people who can't take it but I have nothing bad I can say about the drug myself. I have th same problem with predisone. I don't know how people can take high doses of the stuff it makes me feel like they have to lock me up in a rubber room. I can honestly say if my doctor put me on 60mg. of steroids or even 40 I would refuse to take it. I talked to the pharmacist and he told me about 1% of the population will have psychotic episodes from steroids. well lucky me eyes

let uss know what you think of it. I can take it in the mornings too and never feel it. I've had to do that before when i have forgotten it at night.

You might try asking in the anxiety forum or the depression forum I'm sure a lot of them use it.

God Bless

Effexor works great for me as well and I had tried a couple of others before effexor came alonng. But as Carol said, everyone is different. What works for one may not work for another.
