I went to a friends house wenesday night and stay until this afternoon. I had a doctors appt: at 11:15. She took me off of my BP meds she said I was doing well without it and we would just keep and eye on it. It was like 120 over 80. She decreased my steroids from 20. mg to 15. and than she wants to go down to 10 in 2 weeks.   Of course she ordered labs I have been feeling pretty anemic lately. Usually they can barely get blood but today I bled like crazy. Odd for me. She put me on lasix because I'm retaining alot of fluids. She thinks I still have a lung infection but she said my breath sounds are doing well and my heart sounds good. Praise the lord! I think I have about 10 lbs of water weight gain so I am going to try to stay away from all salt and I'm going to be drinking more water. I'm gonna try to eat more salads and stuff. The closest place I can get my meds filled is 4 blocks from here and they aren't open in this little town on the weekends.
My friend was with me and she noticed that my hands were shaking terribly all the time I was at her house. She mentioned it to the doctor and she said they see that a lot with people that don't get enough oxygen. I really hate the tremmors. Oh than she reminded me I need to get another ultrasound done on my left breast. I told her they are so lumpy anyway that I can tell if anything changed or not. I noticed they have been aching lately. I don't know why. I know pain isn't really a symptom of breast cancer or anything. Maybe I'm actually getting bigger boobs???????
Well I think i'm gonna go to bed. I'm pretty tired. It will be nice to sleep in my own bed again.
love to all I will try to catch up with what everyone has been doing hopfully tomorrow.
lots of love and prayers

((( Carol )))) I am glad a friend went with you to the doctor, saved you from doing all that driving my yourself! It sounds like you had a pretty good visit. It's great no more blood pressure med! I hope you tolerate the drop in Pred well and that the lasix works for you. Let us know when you go back for the ultrasound, you will be in my prayers.

Carol, it sounds like things went pretty well at your doctor's appointment. The only thing I'm worried about it the quick tapering of your prednisone. Like Stacie said, hopefully you will tollerate it okay. It's interesting that you are retaining fluid because they said I was too when I went for my physical. The med student that was working with my doc asked me if I was ever put on water pills, which I haven't. That's great news about your BP - one less pill - Yay!

Get rested up. It sounds like you had a nice visit with your friend but that kind of stuff can wear you out too. Thanks for the update.

Love and hugs

Hi Stacie, Hippi, and Debbie. I hope you ladies are having a good weekend. Yes I'm glad to be getting off the BP meds. I hope it stays ok. and the steroids are of course always best when they can set in a bottle unused. I do have to be real carful though as we all do when tapering off the stuff. I'm sure she will never let me off of it all together but normally I'm on 5mg. and it doesn't give me any side effects. Now that the weather is changing I can get out more without such a fear of my lungs getting worse.

Hippi, we do seem to run along the same lines don't we! LOL. From water retention to fudge cycles! Did they put you are a water pill?

Now if I could deal with the insomnia. I meant to ask the doctor about it but I forgot. Plus I'm not sure I really want to take another pill. I usually sleep fairly well but than I have one or two days in a row every couple of weeks when I can't sleep. That is the most miserable feeling to me. I'd rather be sick than tired from insomnia.

Thanks again for your love and your prayers, I'm putting on my night cap! smurf love ya

So glad your getting to taper on the pred. and getting off bp pills. Blood pressure med contribute to fatigue so maybe you'll feel better. Uh, if you figure out what's causing your boobs to swell, let me know!! :) Take care of yourself girl! Love ya, Judy
