Hey all. I have a tall tale for you all. I am just not sure if I can believe this logic! I was just curious if anyone else has heard anything similar.....
about 6 months ago I started having pain in my neck, up into the back of my head. I told my rhemie and he said it is not rhematic, probably muscular. I guess neck pain in the joints is only in advanced stages of connective tissue disease. I am not sure what the difference is since all my other small bones and joints are affected.... Anyhow, he wanted me to go to physical therapy. It helped only for a few hours after treatment. I went about 8 times. A few days ago I went to a chiropractor. He asked me about any injuries/accidents and I said no. He insisted I must have been in a car accident sometime in my life. Okay, yea 8 years ago I was. Someone ran a stop sign, I was a passenger and hit my head on the windshield a few times (no seatbelt I wear it every day now, airbag deployed but didnt work). I went to the hospital, they did x-rays everything was fine. He said that your spine lenthens from injury to heal and then stretches and doesnt know how to interpret pain. He thinks that explains my whole disease process! Crazy huh? I have to get some x-rays and go see him next week, I just thought this was crazy. Not that it doesnt sound great to be "cured" with a weekly bone adjustment....
So anyone see a chiropractor? What was your experience?

Hi Snickerdoodle,
I have no experience with a chiroprator but, hopefully someone will come along soon to help you with this. I have friends that go to them often and get alot of relief. I've always been weary of them myself. Good luck and keep us updated. You will be in my thoughts and prayers.

Hi Snickerdoodle,

Ginny sees a chiropractor and gets some great relief from that.

I believe the bottom line is finding one that you can trust. I just wanted to bump this topic back up so you might get more responses.

I don't have much experience with chiropractors either, but it would be great if you were able to get some good relief. From what I've read about lupus, it's difficult to say what "causes" it, but I've read that certain events might activate it including illness, accident, etc, so the stress of your accident on your body might have triggered the start of your lupus.

I'll be interested to see how much the chiroprator helps - keep us updated.

I see a chiropractor but he has never once tried to claim my disease process was caused by spinal problems. Sounds like you need a different chiropractor. You can get a lot of relief from a good chiropractor but some are so militant about chiropracting solving all problems they advocate d/c meds for disease despite the fact no properly conducted research has ever supported the theory that spinal issues cause all disease.
