I’m still waiting on the results of the Disability hearing but I do volunteer work and have been slammed this month so I haven’t had any time to get on here.  I know I'm stressing about the hearing and about this volunteer stuff. I can't walk away, some folks consider me the expert in that area for the state. When I have it looks like there are a whole lot of new folks or questions. I’ll just say hi to everyone.

I’ve been having a new, strange problem. I don’t know if anyone else has had this problem but if anyone can point me in the right direction that would be great.

I’m waking up at night feeling very strange like something is racing around inside me. Not sure if it is my nervous system or blood vessels but my blood pressure is thru the roof?  I’m having a physical in about 3 weeks, so I’m trying to keep track of when this stuff is happening. Have any of you had a problem like this and if so what was it?

Fibro since 97, Lupus since 99, neuropathy and other nerve damage.
On to many Meds to list, Finally got a date for SSA of July 1 after to many years of fighting for a hearing.

Hi hippyrebel,
I'm not sure what to tell you on this one.  So you're monitoring your bp and it's sky high?  I'd see your doctor before your 3 week physical if your bp is doing naughty things.  Is it an anxious kind of feeling you have when you wake up?  Is your heart racing?  Just wondering if it's an anxiety attack you're having.  Just a thought......

I agree with Ginny and Bill. High blood pressure is not something to mess with. If it's waking you up at night, you need to call your doctor and get in now. I wish I could help with an answer, but high blood presure can point to so many different things.

I agree with the above. High bp coinciding with something affecting your sleep, sounds like you are describing some kind of stress or panic waking you? does not sound good at all. If you have no insurance, the ER might be a place to go as they usually have some kind of funding. And if your blood pressure is really high, they can probably help you get it down. I could say something like "give it to God" about your hearing, but it is so hard to do. Do you find yourself gasping or heart racing when you wake up at night? If so, I would mention this. The high bp is definitely something to get to the doc right away about. And remember the usual things like avoiding caffeine, tv, and other stressful things before bed. I will pray your trial goes well and that you are okay and get the medical help you need. I know this is a horrible time, waiting for disability. Hopefully it will be over soon.

Hi Hippy,

I'm sorry to even suggest it . . . but, might you be dealing with menopause? It can cause issues at the same time each night and it can hit younger than you think. Just a thought.

Yup . . . if your BP is that high, at the very least, make sure to call your doctor first thing in the morning.

Keep us posted!
