I have in the past. Has your PCP checked you for an infection? Has your thyroid ever been tested? There are a number of things that can cause your throat to feel this way. I think you need to make a list of all the symptoms your having to take with you to your next doctors appt. The more information you can give your doctor, the better he can come to a diagnosis.

It's hard to say what might be causing this. Like mygrljes said, it could be a number of things like thyroid, infection or possibly Sjogren's which is an autoimmune illness that is often associated with lupus. Hang in there. I know you have a lot going on and a long time to wait before you see the rheumy. I know how hard it can be to feel rotten and not have any answers.
Diagnosis:  UCTD (lupus) 2006; Raynauds 2006; Sjogren's 2006; lupus symptoms began 2003; UC 2008; CFS 1991; Mono 1985

I agree.  There are a number of things it could be, from yeast overgrowth to GERD to infection.  Get it checked out.

I agree with Hippi, mygrljes and Jeannie it needs to be checked. I would start with the PCP checking my thyroid. If your thyroid is enlarged it could cause the symptoms you are having. I have a "goiter" in my thyroid and I experienced what you are describing but once I was back on my meds the swelling came down. If it turns out to be a thyroid problem you may want to get a referral to an Endocrinologist as they specialize in thyroid problems among other things.

Please let us know what the doctor says.

Trust in the Lord with all thine heart, and lean not unto thine own understanding ~ Proverbs 3:5 ~
