Welp! I just got back from the rheumy and he is afraid that I am internally bleeding. He took 6 tubes of blood from me to see and told me I would know by Monday! He took me off of Day-pro until we know for sure. I know one reason he is suspicious of it is because in March I had a hemogloban of 15 and when I tried to give blood a few weeks of go I couldnt because it was down to 9.3! Now I am really scared! He also put me on Ambien so I might be able to get some rest. I know someone who reads this has had internal bleeding. If so, what symptoms did you have? What is the process you go through to heal it? Please keep me in your prayers. I am also stressed out and overwelmed with stuff going on with life.

I'm confused, or maybe just totally in the dark about this symptom. I don't see how taking 6 vials of blood can show bleeding in the abdomen? Hopefully the doctor knows more than I do!!!!!

I'm interested in finding out what everyone has to say about this,

Yeah, that doesn't make sense to me either..... I thought they did ultrasounds or a scan to detect internal bleeds? I wish I had more info for you as well.  Please keep us posted.  I'll be praying for you,

I think Aims is saying that the doctor is trying to determine IF there is blood loss happening somewhere in the body.

Aimsgirl . . . after he determines if you are losing blood or not making it correctly, he will then try to determine exactly what is causing it. Its good that he's caught it so don't worry yet . . . ok?? You will almost certainly feel way better after he treats this problem.

Why are you giving blood?? Not a good idea with AI disease.

I hope you will keep us posted.

I had a GI bleed in June. They determined that when my hemoglobin dropped really low, by doing a upper GI. It really wasn't that bad at all. I was in the hospital. They transfused me and gave me protonix and carafate. It sounds scarey and it can potentially be serioous, but it's definitley one of the easier treatable issues!!! My hemaglobin is really low right now. I will probably land in the hospital for another transfusion on Monday. I am having much difficulty sustaining my blood counts due to bone marrow suppression from Lupus, Chronic Renal disease and meds! I ended up needing another transfusion in July. I'm sorry, i'm rambling, major cognitive dysfunction at this time! Anyway, try not to worry too much! It's more than likely fixable!
Keep us posted! Judy
