How long have you been on plaquenil? It does take up to 6 months to kick in (from what I'm learning here). Hives are very common in lupus. It's your immune system kicking in like there's an allergy, when there isn't one. Classic. I had hive issues before I was diagnosed too. Hives and eczema. Lovely combo .
Chemo meds are common and there are a few of us here on them. I'm sure someone will come along and help you out more with your question.
