I got 2 injections in my left hand because of severe swelling and tendon pain. I thought I would feel relief within 24hours but actually my one finger is worse. I can't bend or straighten it. Also it looks like the middle joints of 3 fingers are bruised. Can this happen from this medication?

(((( Free )))) my rheumy has asked if the pain in my hands is bad enough for an injection and my response has always been yes but NO!!! nono

Maybe you should put a call into the doctor's office and let them know, it may be normal or it may not. I am sorry I'm not very helpful. I hope you get some relief from your pain. Take care

I spoke to him yesterday and he said it should have taken effect. Because my hands are still so swollen and now this problem, My Rheumy has told me to increase my Pred to 20mg for 3 days then 15mg for 3 days then back down to 9 mg and continue on my taper. Gee, I never realized how much I valued my hands until this all started. Although painful, I find it ironic that my one hand is always in position to "flip the Bird", and with my mood these days I think I am going to start using it :-)
